2026 Comparison

CoachPro Tools vs Practice Better

Practice Better is not a coaching platform: it is an electronic health record. That does not make it worse. It makes it something else, and it is worth knowing which before you pay.

CoachPro Tools VS Practice Better

Start with what ties

The short answer

Practice Better is an EHR: an electronic health record with prescriptions, insurance and HIPAA. It is built for dietitians, mental health professionals and functional medicine, and it also names health coaches. Its 35 USD plan allows 10 clients; unlimited clients cost 99. CoachPro Tools costs 30 and counts nothing, but has not one line of the clinical side.

The inventory of what you may never use

Practice Better is built around healthcare compliance. If you are a dietitian or a psychologist, this is half the platform and the whole reason to pay for it. If you are not, it is the part of the bill you will never open. Go through the list honestly before deciding.

Practice Better's clinical machinery
Marked by whether a non-clinical coach uses it
ePrescribe — prescribing medication from the platform.
You don't use it
Insurance billing — invoicing an insurer instead of the client.
You don't use it
Charting — structured clinical notes with record templates.
You don't use it
HIPAA and PIPEDA compliance — mandatory for health information in the United States and Canada.
You don't use it
Meal plans — through its That Clean Life integration.
You don't use it
Scheduling, payments, forms and video calls — the management side, which everyone does use.
You do use it

Five of the six blocks are for clinicians. That is not a flaw in Practice Better: it is exactly what it promises and what justifies its price. The question is whether you are in the group that needs it.

Where Practice Better wins

What no figure in the table explains

Both platforms take you to the door of the session: appointment, form, payment, video call. Compared on that alone, Practice Better does more, and does some things we never will.

The difference shows up inside the hour. Practice Better gives you somewhere to record what happened. CoachPro Tools gives you something to work with while it happens: the 271 tools — Wheel of Life, GROW, personal SWOT, DISC and 267 more — that your client fills in on screen while you talk, with a PDF report carrying your brand when you finish.

An EHR records. A coaching platform intervenes. Both verbs are necessary, but not in the same profession and not in the same proportion.

Verdict

If you are a dietitian, a nutritionist, a mental health professional or you work in functional medicine, this comparison should not cost you much thought: Practice Better is built for you and CoachPro Tools is not. Prescriptions, insurance and HIPAA compliance are not extras, they are how you practise.

If you are a life, executive, team or career coach, look at the inventory again. Five of its six blocks are machinery you will not open, and you pay for them anyway. And the plan that does not cap you at 10 clients costs 99 USD.

And if your clients speak Spanish, there is something no table captures: Practice Better is English only, and that reaches the forms and the documents your clients receive.

Frequently asked questions

How many clients does the entry plan allow?

Ten, on the Starter plan at 35 USD. Three hundred on Professional at 69, and unlimited from Plus at 99. CoachPro Tools has no counter on any plan: unlimited clients for 30 USD.

Is Practice Better any use if I am not a clinician?

It is: it schedules, takes payment, sends forms and runs a video call. The useful question is a different one — what share of the bill covers ePrescribe, insurance, charting, HIPAA and meal plans, which you will not use.

Do you have HIPAA?

No. We have GDPR and a data processing agreement, which is the European framework. If you need HIPAA in order to work, that is a real difference in their favour and we are not going to gloss over it.

What are the interactive tools?

Instruments the client fills in on screen during the session — Wheel of Life, GROW, personal SWOT, DISC and 267 more — with sliders and charts drawn live. When you finish they produce a PDF report carrying your brand that your client keeps.

That is the difference underneath: Practice Better has forms and note templates, not instruments you work through live.

Is it worth switching if I already use Practice Better?

If you bill insurance or handle clinical information, no: you would lose what lets you practise. If you do not, the sum is simple — what you pay today, how many of those features you opened last month, and what you use during the session.
