Practice Better is an electronic health record and practice management system for health practitioners. Its own site addresses mental health professionals, functional medicine practitioners, medical doctors, nutritionists, dietitians, personal trainers, nurse practitioners, naturopathic doctors and chiropractors, and it also names health coaches. It carries ePrescribe, insurance billing, charting and HIPAA and PIPEDA compliance. CoachPro Tools is a coaching platform: it has none of that, and instead brings 271+ interactive session tools, a built-in video call and a PDF report carrying the coach's brand. If you work in health with insurance involved, Practice Better does things CoachPro Tools does not do and does not try to do. If you are not a clinician, that machinery is weight you pay for and never open.

How much does Practice Better cost?

Five plans. Sprout is free. Starter costs 35 dollars a month, or 25 a month paid annually, and allows 10 clients with 1 GB of storage. Professional costs 69, or 59 annually, and allows 300 clients with 5 GB. Plus costs 99, or 89 annually, with unlimited clients and storage. Team costs 155 and includes 2 practitioner licences, with 50 dollars a month for each additional practitioner. The trial is 30 days on the Team plan and 14 days on the other paid plans. CoachPro Tools costs 30 dollars a month with no client cap, 157 a year or 297 as a one-off payment. Prices checked on their page on 1 September 2026.

How many clients does each Practice Better plan allow?

Ten on the Starter plan at 35 dollars, three hundred on the Professional plan at 69, and unlimited from the Plus plan at 99 upwards. It is the hardest cap of every platform we have compared: at eleven clients the entry plan no longer works. CoachPro Tools has no client counter on any plan, and unlimited clients cost 30 dollars a month.

Is Practice Better any use to a coach who is not a clinician?

It is, because it schedules, takes payment, sends forms and runs a video call. But a good part of what you pay for is clinical machinery: ePrescribe, insurance billing, charting, HIPAA compliance and meal plans through its That Clean Life integration. A life coach, a team coach or an executive coach touches none of those five. The useful question is not whether it works, but what share of the bill covers features you will never open.

What does Practice Better do better?

Quite a lot, and it is worth saying in full. It has a free plan, which CoachPro Tools does not. It meets HIPAA and PIPEDA, essential if you handle clinical information. It bills insurance. It has a native mobile app, secure client messaging and client journaling, three things CoachPro Tools does not have and which sit on its own pending list. It runs group sessions. And its trial is 14 or 30 days, against CoachPro Tools' 3 days with a hold on the amount.

Is Practice Better available in Spanish?

Its site is in English and offers no other languages. CoachPro Tools is in neutral Spanish written for both Spain and Latin America, and also has an English version. If your clients are Spanish-speaking it is worth bearing in mind, because language does not only affect your own dashboard: it affects booking pages, forms and the documents your clients receive.
